- Own consolidated reporting: Oversee and review consolidating and consolidated financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) for Liv Holding, Liv Communities, and related entities.
- Raise the audit bar: Prepare the organization for audited financial statements and ensure GAAP-compliant financials.
- Run the engine of recurring accounting: Lead timely journal entries, 1099s, check processing, cash and investment reconciliations, and operating reports and budgets.
- Direct AP & AR excellence: Ensure accurate, timely disbursements, purchase orders, expense reports, cash control, billing, and cash application.
- Inform decisions with sharp insights: Deliver financial management reports for company leadership and the Board—at asset/property and investor levels.
- Strengthen investor relationships: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual investor packages and join investor communications as needed.
- Partner with lenders: Produce required financial statements and covenant compliance certificates for financial institutions; finalize year‑end statements across Liv entities.
- Protect and improve the system: Assess and enhance governance, controls, and processes to safeguard the company, shareholders, and information security.
- Lead and mentor: Supervise the Assistant Controller and provide exemplary leadership to the Finance & Accounting team, from hiring to recognition.
- Benefits & insurance collaboration: Participate in employee benefits selection and insurance tasks.
- Own budgeting & planning: Lead Liv Communities’ operating budget; support multi‑family, commercial property, and other departmental budgets; partner with the Chief Operating Officer on annual business plans for all managed assets.
- Steward tax matters: Coordinate all tax‑related engagements with third‑party service providers and collaborate on IRS notices/issues.
- Drive improvement: Champion a “meta‑performance” leadership mindset; continually seek efficiency gains using innovation, curiosity, and growth‑oriented practices.
- CPA (required), plus 3–5 years of industry accounting; 2 years public accounting preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a quick study of new financial software.
- A genuine embrace of AI and automation to streamline and elevate work.
- Strong written and verbal communication, a self‑starter mindset.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 10%
